Farmhouse Gray

I know my blog has been a little silent lately. I have some fun news to share about why I have been so busy that I haven't blogged. We bought a farmhouse and 80 acres. First of all, the previous owner of our farmhouse was a wonderful lady. We were very lucky to stumble upon our dream house. With that being said, we had a lot of updates to be done to the farmhouse but the house has such good bones to work with. We know that it will take years to finish all the projects we plan on completing. My husband and I spent several weeks painting prior to moving in to our farmhouse. Paint color is a challenge. I knew I wanted a farmhouse gray but I quickly found out that a simple gray is very hard to find. Most grays have a blue tone, pink tone, or beige tone. So I chose several different sample colors and went to painting swatches on the wall which I strongly recommend. After long deliberation, I finally chose a gray color for the living room and bedrooms. I chose Sherwin Williams Windstorm. For the foyer area, hallway and Kitchen walls, I chose Sherwin Williams Grayscreen. I wanted a pop of color on my kitchen cabinets so I chose Sherwin Williams Hazel paint color. All of the trim in the house we painted Sherwin Williams Ultra White. I have to give a huge shout out to my husband on painting! He worked so hard to get the house painted so that we could move in.

Before photos of our Farmhouse:

The living room as we were taping off and covering the beautiful hardwood floors. You will notice that the walls and trim were all painted the same color.

My husband painting the trim Ultra white.

The before photo of the gas fireplace.

The Kitchen before painting the cabinets, walls and replacing the light fixtures.

Now for the after photos!

Living room after paint. We still need to replace the outlet covers.

The fireplace got a makeover with Kilz Chalkpaint.

The laundry hallway.

Entry to the hallway. Complete with new light fixtures.

The master bedroom. The floors are to die for!

The kitchen after painting the cabinets and island. We also replaced the cabinet hardware and light fixtures. The wall color is Sherwin Williams Grayscreen and the cabinet color is Sherwin Williams Hazel. I love the farmhouse feel with the pop of color!

There will be more updates to come and I hope to share more projects here on my blog! Stay tuned! If you have any questions please post in the comments.
